Monotype no. 13: Charbonnel water based ink on Stonehenge paper. This is one of seven different black inks in the Charbonnel Aqua Wash series, Black 55985. The manufacturer describes it as the “most viscous black, for deep etching, drypoint, burin and mezzotint.” There’s something different about how the black moves on the plate when compared with the sepia I’ve been using until now. I wish I could credit that difference for the ugly scuff mark where the paper shifted while printing, but that mistake was all my own.
